GAS CHAINSAW
There are two types of chainsaws: gas-powered and electric. Gas powered is easier to move around (no cord to follow behind you or trip over). Gas powered is also generally more powerful than electric chainsaws. Electric is easier to maintain, and you do not have to mix gas and oil like you do to power a gas chainsaw. Electric is also quieter than gas powered. Gas powered chainsaws use a two-cycle engine (requiring mixing of oil and gas). Mobility and power are the main advantages of gas. Disadvantages include the bother and smell of mixing oil and gas, pull cord starting and the additional overall maintenance needed. There are three sizes of gas chainsaws to choose from based upon the type of work. Lightweight saws have an 8 to 12 inch guide bar, Mid-weight saws are equipped with a 14 to 20 inch guide bar, and Heavy weight chain saws have a guide bar more than 20 inches long and are for professional use. Other important points to consider are the bar length, engine displacement, chain pitch and chain gauge as well as the brand. Quick start electronic ignition for a gas-powered chainsaw will make the chainsaw easier to start. Muffler will help reduce the noise of the chainsaw. Anti-vibration allows the use of chainsaw for long periods of time, and increases your physical comfort.
